Nexus
The Nexus is where Young begins his journey. It is a central repository of warp points leading to different areas, though save for the first, the Roadway, each point must be discovered in the dream world first.
When all the main-game cards have been found in an area, the gem above an area's warp gate in the Nexus will glow bright red. Useful for when you need to collect cards to advance though a card gate.
