Miao the cat is an anthropomorphic cat that Young encounters in the lake area. He will follow you around if you talk to him, in order to learn from Young.
He is also used to complete some sidequests for cards and items.
Of note is that if you go across water, Miao has a built-in dust raft, which clever players may see and thus learn to make dust rafts themselves.
